How do we fit those massive tires under the truck while using only a moderate size lift and maintaining a factory like ride?
Our exclusive DEFCO fenders and bedsides are designed and manufactured just for DEFCO. You won’t find them on any other vehicle. The body lines are soft and smooth to flow with the truck. No sharp angles, mis-matched body lines or inconsistent gaps. They are wider than stock with larger diameter openings and the key to transforming the truck from normal to amazing.
Hundreds of hours are spent fitting the new panels. Each front fender must line up perfectly with the hood, door and headlight. Each bedside must line up perfectly with the cab and taillight. The front fenders have a unique recess for the billet aluminum DEFCO emblem which not only identifies the model of DEFCO but also shows the DEFCO serial number of that truck. A matching tailgate emblem resides on the right rear of the gate.

Along with the new fenders and bedsides, we replace the hood with our own more aggressive version that aligns with the new fenders and grille. The grille is our own, painted to match the body color of the truck. It retains the Ford oval and has the DEFCO logo machined into it.
When we designed our parts, one of the primary goals was to bring the tires to the edge of the fenders, but not sticking out where they would throw rocks, mud, rain, etc. We accomplish this with a combination of our body kit and custom made wheels.
The Process
We make it pretty simple. You can give us your truck, you can order a new truck and have it shipped to us, we can find you a truck or you can purchase one ready to go from one of our authorized dealers. Once we begin, it takes approximately 90 days start to finish. We can customize your truck to your tastes and offer many upgrades.
Each truck starts with disassembly to get it ready for the DEFCO fenders, bedsides and hood. Each panel is carefully fitted and massaged to achieve factory gaps and alignment. Once it passes our quality control process, the entire truck is painted back to the factory color with extra coats of clear and polished to a show like finish. While we’re painting, we color match the door handles and other trim pieces.
After paint we move on to the bumpers. Our bumpers are fabricated to perfectly align with the DEFCO fenders and bedsides, and then color matched to the truck. No wavy bumpers on a DEFCO truck. Each one is smoothed and blocked as if it were a body panel.
Have you noticed how brand new trucks have rusty parts underneath? Not DEFCO. We remove unpainted factory parts and paint them chassis black. Then we install the DEFCO suspension to give is it some real attitude before bolting on the massive 43” tires and wheels.
Now it’s lighting time. Both front and rear bumpers are loaded up with Rigid lighting wired to the factory overhead upfitter switches. You can choose from a variety of back lit colors for your lights.
Finally it’s time for reassembly of all the trim, headlights, taillights, DEFCO emblems, grille. Any optional equipment is installed now. Once complete, the truck goes through a thorough quality control check and test drive. Our test drives are a combination of city and highway, checking for any vibrations, noises, pulling, etc. Then it goes to detail for a thorough cleaning before delivery.
When you get your DEFCO truck, rest assured it is 100% ready to go and has been checked and rechecked many times by our experienced technicians.
