About DEFCO Trucks
DEFCO Trucks was started by Doug Paddock and his love for anything off road. After a partnership building Ford Super Duty’s, Doug set off on his own to create his vision of the ultimate off-road truck. After developing the one of a kind body kit, he turned to Lewis Built Performance to fabricate unique, off-road capable suspension systems. His trucks not only looked amazing but performed when you got off the pavement.
Fast forward through the height of the pandemic and Doug’s efforts turned to other aspects of his business. Along came Randy who inquired about Doug building him a truck. One thing led to another and Randy purchased DEFCO and then brought on his longtime friend Seth, who was in the business of building trucks for 28 years.
The focus for DEFCO is building high quality, eye catching, great driving trucks capable of towing virtually anything. Attention to detail is the key and you will see that in every DEFCO truck. With the recent launch of the BA450 dually converted to a super single, the company has already seen tremendous interest in the new products.
Although Ford has gotten DEFCO off the ground, the company already has plans to add more platforms in 2022. We’ll continue to add more and more options and build our dealer network so DEFCO trucks will be available without a wait.

Randy Kent
Randy Kent was born and raised in Missouri and now spends ½ of his time in Florida. With many designs and multiple Patents to his name, Randy has owned businesses local and nationwide but is mainly known for his love of cars and boats. Very well known in the classic car world as having some of the finest muscle cars, hot rods and resto-mods. Randy has also created and owned some of the most recognizable offshore performance boats in the world.
Having a passion and an eye for detail on just about anything he builds, you can see how this has carried over to DEFCO Trucks.
Randy believes in making sure his customers have the best experience in anything he does for them, from helping his customers design their dream boat and now dream truck with DEFCO Trucks.
Seth Gortenburg
Seth Gortenburg spent the weekends playing in his grandfathers wrecking yard as a kid. After attending the University of Missouri, Columbia, he returned home to Kansas City and opened a retail store for truck enthusiasts. He grew the company to three retail locations and a wholesale division before selling in 2019. During that time, his company lifted/lowered over 10,000 trucks.
Seth has owned many magazine vehicles and spends much of his time buying, selling and building custom cars and trucks. His vehicles have won many awards and his company held the prestigious SEMA Retailer of the Year award. When he is not playing with cars and trucks, he does volunteer mentoring for young entrepreneurs.
His passion for custom vehicles and standards of excellence have provided lifelong friendships in the industry.
